The Pure Land
Journal of the International Association of Shin Buddhist Studies
The Pure Land is an annual journal published by the International Association of Shin Buddhist Studies (IASBS). Subscriptions to the journal are available through membership in the IASBS.
Articles for consideration by The Pure Land from the members of the IASBS
are welcomed and are to be submitted in English addressed to the Editor,
The Pure Land at
pureland@shin-ibs.edu
or sent to:
c/o The Institute of Buddhist Studies,
2140 Durant Avenue, Suite 30, Berkeley, CA 94704-1589, USA.
Submissions by non-members and manuscripts written in languages other than
English will also be considered depending on the availability of editorial
resources.
Guidelines for Authors:
Authors should submit three hard copies of the manuscript as well as an electronic file using a standard word-processing program for either PC or Mac. Versions
in Unicode are preferred. An abstract of not more than 150 words should accompany each manuscript.
Notes are to be endnotes with full bibliographic information in the note
first mentioning a work, i.e., no separate bibliography. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of all quotations and for supplying
complete references. Foreign words should be italicized and marked with
proper diacriticals. Romanized Chinese follows the Pinyin system (except in special cases); romanized Japanese, the modified Hepburn
system. Japanese and Chinese names are given surname first, omitting honorifics.
The Editorial Committee reserves the right to edit all submissions. Upon request, page proofs may be reviewed by the author. Copies and disks will not be returned. All manuscripts accepted for publication become the property of The Pure Land, that is, the journal holds the copyright. Authors must obtain the permission of the journal to publish them elsewhere.
